In 2012 disaster struck and I became physically and mentally disabled. After loosing my career and facing many obstacles, I began to create art as part of the healing process. I had created art most of my life but just as a hobby.
As a self-taught artisan, I work mainly with stained glass, but also use metal, wire, cement, polymer clay, foam, embroidery, sewing, beading, and anything else I can get my hands on. I will refurbish things destined for the landfills, mix materials, and create new techniques.
I am usually attracted to an image because of its colors or subject and from there it feels like I have connected spiritually with someone who guides me as I create. The piece is really meant for them even though I have no idea who it actually is. This spiritual connection is what inspires me in choosing materials, color, and even drawing the content. I really believe that when a piece speaks to an individual it was them who I connected with while creating.
My studio is in Coutts, Alberta and you are welcome to stop by for a visit – just call or email me for an appointment.
